FTC Extends Public Comment Deadline on Proposed Rule Banning Employment Non-Competes Until April 19th | Seyfarth Shaw

The FTC announced yesterday that it was extending the deadline to submit public comments on its proposed rule banning non-competitive employment. With the extension, the FTC will now accept comments on the proposed rule until April 19. Originally, the deadline for submitting comments was March 20. Information on how to submit comments can be found in the Federal Register notice.The Commission voted approving the public comment period extension was 4-0, with Commissioner Christine S. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has announced that it will be hosting a public forum on February 16, 2022, from 12:00-3:00 pm ET, to discuss its proposed nationwide non-compete ban. The forum is intended to supplement the FTC’s request for written comments, which as of today have exceeded 10,000.
